The EVAW Project is a multidisciplinary training and technical assistance program funded through the Colorado Crime Victim Services Fund. The project includes two employees and approximately 30 expert trainers in the fields of Prosecution, Law Enforcement, Victim Advocacy, and Medical Services. The project provides technical assistance and training on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking to law enforcement officers, prosecutors, victim advocates, and allied professionals.
The cornerstone of success of the EVAW Project has been collaboration. The joint effort by the County Sheriff’s of Colorado, the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Colorado District Attorney’s Council, and the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault has modeled the importance of a coordinated community response to violence against women.
